SentryPlus Alert Technology

SentryPlus Alert® technology offers versatile solutions for protection, detection, and notification. Select backflow preventer assemblies feature automatic flood protection by detecting continuous relief valve discharge. This condition can worsen with a blocked or undersized drain and lead to significant damage. Other select assemblies integrated with the system provide monitoring for pressure fluctuations and early warnings for freezing conditions.

Flood Protection Shutdown Control Valves — Series LFF113FP safeguards property by continuously monitoring RPZ backflow relief valve discharge. When abnormal discharge is detected, the system automatically shuts off the water supply, helping prevent potential flood-related damage.

Series PVS-7000 Pre-Engineered Flood Protection Valve Station with SentryPlus Alert technology, a configured water flow control system, assembled from proven, reliable components meets exacting project application requirements. Consists of Series LFF113FP automatic shutdown control valve and relay box, Reduced Pressure Zone backflow preventer (Series LF909 Large or Series 957), and sensor technology.

Flood Detection — Enhancing reduced pressure zone and detector assemblies with the SentryPlus Alert® system and integrated flood sensors adds proactive notification capabilities to detect continuous relief valve discharge. When paired with an add on connection kit, the sensor is activated to relay alerts for potential flooding events. Connection kit options include BMS, cellular communication, and the Sensor Control Monitor which enables integration with BAS via RS‑485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

A flood detection upgrade option, the Air Gap Flood Sensor Connection Kit is compatible with any RPZ assembly system including a metal air gap and a 2-inch female NPT connection. Mounted at the base of the air gap, the sensor is triggered when the relief valve discharge exceeds 3 GPM. The kit consists of sensor and activation components and supports integration with BMS and cellular network communication.

Pressure Monitoring — Assess the performance of select backflow preventer assemblies with integrated sensor technology on test cocks to measure pressure fluctuations at three points. Available on Model IOT of Series LF007 and LF709 with NRS gate valves, and suitable for non-fire protection applications. Requires an add-on monitoring connection kit to collect, convert, and transmit pressure data. Supports integration with BMS. The replacement kit includes three sensor modules.

Freeze Detection — Safeguard small-diameter devices from freezing conditions with sensor-based temperature monitoring. The system can alert facility personnel when the temperature approaches and reaches the freezing point. The alert capability is activated through an add-on connection kit compatible with Wi-Fi networks, BMS, and irrigation management systems (IMS). Each two-sensor kit includes one for the valve assembly and the other for standalone operation at cold-sensitive, water-bearing equipment. Freeze sensor replacements are available.
